Dr. Ilma Arshad is currently working as a Guest Faculty in the Interdisciplinary Department of Remote Sensing and GIS Applications, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
She has completed her graduation and post-graduation in Geology from Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. In recognition of her outstanding academic performance, she was awarded with the University Gold Medal and the Dr. H.S. Pareek Gold Medal for securing first position in B.Sc.(Hons.) Geology. She was also the recipient of the Post-Graduate Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holders from the University Grants Commission as well as the University Merit Financial Scholarship awarded by the Department of Geology, A.M.U. She has also secured second position in her M.Sc. (Applied Geology).
Dr. Arshad has obtained her Ph.D. degree in Geology from Aligarh Muslim University. Her doctoral research focused on assessing the impact of urbanization on groundwater and surface water resources through the integration of field-based hydrogeological studies, geochemical modeling, and remote sensing and GIS techniques. She had consistently produced high quality research work which has been published in several peer-reviewed and renowned International and National Journals namely Hydrogeology Journal, Groundwater for Sustainable Development, Sustainable Water Resources Management and Journal of the Geological Society of India. In addition, she has contributed book chapters to volumes published by Elsevier and Springer and has presented her research at various International and National conferences. These research publications are a testament to her research abilities reflecting the depth and scope of her expertise.
