Dr. Zeyaul Haque is an Assistant Professor at the Centre of Advanced Study (CAS), Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University. He holds a Ph.D. and M.phil from the Centre for Historical Studies, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University. He specialises in Medieval and Early Modern Indian history, with a particular emphasis on intellectual history, the history of ideas and Indo-Persian literary culture. His core research interest lies in political thought, governance, ethics, and statecraft in Mughal India.

His scholarly contributions include a notable article in the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society on advice literature during Akbar’s reign. In addition, he has published several chapters in edited volumes in Urdu on themes such, historiography, and modern political thought, along with translations of key historiographical chapters.

Dr. Haque has been the recipient of prestigious fellowships, including the Charles Wallace India Trust Fellowship (UK) and the Junior Research Fellowship from the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), reflecting the academic recognition of his research. He has substantial teaching experience across leading institutions, including Aligarh Muslim University, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, and Jamia Millia Islamia. In addition to courses on Medieval and early Modern Indian history, he also teaches a paper on Research Methodology, equipping students with essential tools for historical inquiry and academic writing.
