I hold an M.Phil. and a PhD from Aligarh Muslim University, with my doctoral research focusing on Rajput architecture during the Mughal period. My areas of specialisation include Medieval Indian History, Rajput and Bundela architecture, Indo-Islamic architecture, Islamic inscriptions, medieval archaeology, cultural studies, and Sufism.

My research engages with themes such as art and architectural history, South Asian Islam, Islamic institutions, environmental history, and social and cultural change in medieval and early modern India. I have published two monographs and several research articles in reputed national and international journals and conference proceedings, and have contributed chapters to edited volumes. I regularly present my work at national and international conferences and have delivered invited lectures at academic institutions in India and abroad.

I teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses on medieval Indian history, art and architecture, world history, and heritage studies, and have supervised doctoral and postgraduate research. In addition to teaching and research, I have been actively involved in academic administration, curriculum development, conference organisation, and scholarly outreach.
