Dr. Gulrukh Khan is Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Centre of Advanced Study, Aligarh Muslim University. She received her PhD for her dissertation, The Structure of Mughal Polity, 1526–1575 A.D., which has been cited by scholars in India and abroad. Her research focuses on the political, social, and gender history of Mughal India, with particular interests in Mughal polity, courtly institutions and the imperial harem. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes and has presented her research at national and international conferences.
