Profile: Dr. Naiem Akhtar received his B.Sc. Engineering and M. Sc. Engineering degrees from A.M.U., Aligarh and Ph.D. degree from I.I.T., Delhi. His specialization is in the area of Thermal Engineering. Before joining as Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, A.M.U. Aligarh on 18th January 2011, he has served for more than 19 years in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology in the capacities of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. He has taught a number of courses such as Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Refrigeration, Theory of Fluid Flow, Solar Thermal Energy, Non-Conventional Energy. His research interest is in the area of Heat Transfer in Flat Plate Solar Collectors, Thermal Performance Evaluation of Solar Cookers and Solar Stills. He has published research papers in reputed International and National Journals, such as Energy, Solar Energy, Desalination, ASME Transactions-Journal of Solar Energy Engineering, Int. Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Journal of Solar Energy Society of India.
