CULTURAL EDUCATION CENTRE (CEC)

KENNEDY COMPLEX, AMU



The Cultural Education Centre (CEC) started its activities for the academic session 2024-2025 from 12th of September 2024 with event “Campus Wide” which was its annual membership drive. Around 2000 students applied for membership of 11 clubs that run under the CEC. In all around 22 events were organized in various clubs of CEC.

 Major Achievements of Students Members of the CEC:

  1. Mr. Mohd Shams Uddoha Khan, Secretary, University Debating and Literary Club was awarded Sushma Swaraj Best Interjector Award with a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/- at National Youth Parliament, PGDAV College, University of Delhi.

  2. Mr. Mohd Shams Uddoha Khan, Secretary, University Debating and Literary Club was declared the Second Runner-up at Graduate Scholars’ Talk Series (GSTS) (among 200 speakers) organised by Shyam Lal College, University of Delhi.

  3. Ms. Rufaa Fatima received Best Speaker (Urdu) at Janak Kapoor Memorial Debate organised by Satyawati College, University of Delhi.

  4. Ms. Zainab Faiza Islam and Ms Maryam Khan won the Paper Presentation Competition organised by English Literary Society, Miranda House, University of Delhi.

  5. Ms. Amna Asim won the Best Paper Prize at Maazinama, Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi and also got published in Maazinama Vol. 4, the college magazine.

  6. Ms. Madiha Naaz Durrani bagged the First Position in poetry writing competition Word Weave held during Tarang’25 the annual event of Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.





One of the major events of the CEC was the University Literature Festival 2025 organised from 23rd to 25th February 2025. The event had guests both from India and abroad. Prof. Sam North (United Kingdom), Dr. Alexander Phillips (Germany) and Christopher Flakus (Virtually from United States) participated. The AMULF-25 was graced by Prof. Emeritus Irfan Habib as the Inaugural Speaker. Other dignitaries included Dr. Ananya Vajpeyi (Political Thinker), Mr. Tariq Hasan (Veteran Journalist), Prof. Raashid Nehal (Dept of English, AMU), Dr. Areeba Shabbir (Fulbright Fellow), Dr Fauzia Faridi (Womens College, AMU) Achingliu Kamei (Award-winning Poet from Delhi), Arnab Jan Deka (Assamese Poet), Siddhartha Chakraborti (Dept of English, AMU), Geetanjali Singh Chanda (Ashoka University), Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar (Kashmiri Writer), Kamalanand Jha (Dept of Hindi, AMU), Mridula Garg (Sahitya Akademi Winner), Nasera Sharma (Sahitya Akademi winner), Shagufta Niyaz (Womens College, AMU), Nitoo Das (award winning poet from Delhi), Prof Sami Rafiq (Dept of English, AMU), Anuradha Marwah (Novelist), Dr Asma Parveen (Dept of Psychology, AMU) Yogesh Yadav (Dept of History, AMU), Imrana Khatoon (Womens College, AMU), Azra Naqvi (Urdu Poet), Dr Ahmad Mujtaba (Dept of Geography),  Syed Zaighem Murtuza (Journalist), Lubna Irfan (Dept of History, AMU).
