Centre For Integrated Green and Renewable Energy

Aligarh Muslim University has established a Centre for Integrated Green and Renewable Energy under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The centre is managed by a board of management chaired by the vice chancellor. The centre shall address the research questions arising out of large scale grid integration of renewable energy sources. The University has been the leading academic institution in the country in the adoption of green and renewable sources of energy. The AMU campus has 6.5MWp grid integrated solar PV plants ranging from 3.3 MWp centralized solar farm to small rooftop plants of minimum 50kW at more than 35 locations. The large scale integration of solar and wind energy with the grid is changing the power grid operation and control. There is a huge requirement of trained manpower to design, manage, and maintain this changed grid. The set up shall also be used by the centre for research as well as education and training.
