Umair Arif is currently working as a Guest Faculty at Community College, AMU, and has previously served as an Assistant Professor (contractual) at the Mechanical Engineering Section, University Polytechnic, AMU, Aligarh. 
He has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from AMU, India, specializing in Advanced Manufacturing techniques such as EDM and hybrid metal matrix composites. His work has resulted in 16 publications (6 SCI, 8 Scopus), including papers in Scientific Reports (NATURE), JMEP, and a book titled Green and Sustainable EDM (Lambert Academic Publishing). He holds 2 patents, one granted and another published, and has 3 years of teaching experience. He has also been involved in peer reviewing for many prestigious journals like International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (SCIE), Journal of Composite Materials (SCIE) etc. His academic excellence is underscored by awards such as the 2nd Best Ph.D. Thesis Award and GATE qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (2013) and Production Engineering (AIR 544, 2024). Umair has presented at international conferences in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and India. His research emphasizes sustainability, reducing carbon footprints in manufacturing, and ergonomic workplace design, supported by an H-index of 4 and 56 citations.
