Celebration of Constitution Day 2021



As we all know that, Constitution Day (or Samvidhan Divas), also known as National Law Day, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.


Electricity Department celebrated Constitution Day on the occasion of 72nd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India.


Mr. Syed Mohammed Abdullah, Assistant Electrical Engineer (W&M) read the Preamble to the Constitution in English and Mr. Mohd. Shamim Ansari, Off. Assistant Electrical Engineer (SSS) read the Preamble to the Constitution in Hindi which was followed by JE’s, HE’s and office staff members of the Electricity Department.


In this connection, Online Constitution Pledge was also taken by the staff members of the Department of Electricity (W&M and SSS) to uphold sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic and aims to secure justice, liberty, and equality to all citizens and promote fraternity to maintain unity and integrity of the nation.


The function was organized in the Electricity Department under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.


All Covid-19 related guidelines were followed during the program.

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) 2021


In reference circular vide D.O.No. 14-12/2021 (CPP-II) Dated 29.05.2021 regarding use of TOBACCO is the leading cause of preventable death and a known risk factor for CANCER, LUNG DISORDERS, CARDIO VASCULAR diseases and early onset of Tuberculosis.


As we all know that, the World No Tobacco Day is celebrated every year on 31st May. This day also known as the anti-tobacco day was an initiative by WHO. The theme selected for this year's World No Tobacco Day was “Commit to Quit”.


This department organized a sensitization programme on the topic of World No Tobacco Day. The programme was conducted on 31.05.2021 at 3:30 pm in the New Block of Department of Electricity, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and it turned out to be very fruitful and rewarding. Assistant Electrical Engineer (W&M) addressed the event and administered the oath to pledge.


The AE (SSS), JEs, Office & Field Staff of the Deparment of Electricity attended the programme and participated in the oath in a befitting manner following strict adherence to the Government Guidelines/Protocols on COVID-19. All the staff of the department solemnly pledged to reduce their usage of tobacco and eventually stop using them.

Swachhta Pakhwada 2021

In pursuance of the instructions of Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, communicated vide letter F. No. 1104/01/2021-EBSB dated 03.08.2021 and circular D. No. 372/Gen dated 26.08.2021 regarding Observance of Swachhta Pakhwada, 2021 from 01.09.2021 to 15.09.2021.


The following activities were undertaken at the Department of Electricity:

National Voter's Day (2018-2021)

The Department of Electricity celebrated National Voter’s Day to pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of our country. 

Dr. Mohd Ajmal Kafeel, AMIC addressed the event and administered the oath to pledge to uphold the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections, and to vote in every election fearlessly without being influenced by consideration of religion, race cast community, language or any inducement.

The AEs, JEs, Office and Field Staff of the Department of Electricity attended the programme and participated in the oath.

1.   This is in reference to your circular vide D. No. 741/Gen dated 24.11.2020 regarding the "Constitution Day" and the activities undertaken by this department from among the enlisted activities.

Matribhasha Diwas 2020

Celebration of Matribhasha Diwas  (Mother Language Day), an awareness programme on the following was conducted at 9:15 am on 20.02.2020. 

  1. To highlight the linguistic diversity of our country.
  2. Encourage usage of not only the respective mother tongue language, but other Indian languages as well.
  3. To understand diverse cultures in India.

All employees of the Electricity Department were assembled to participate in the awareness programme which was addressed by Dr. Mohammad Ajmal Kafeel, Associate MIC, Electricity Department. The employees were told the importance of mother tongue language and were asked to communicate more and more in Matribhasha.
