Report on National Sports Day Celebration – Day 1 (29th August 2025)




The National Sports Day 2025 celebrations commenced today, 29th August 2025, at Sarojini Naidu Hall with great zeal and enthusiasm. The program was inaugurated by our respected Provost, Prof. Orus Ilyas, who declared the event open by making the first move in the Carrom competition, marking the official beginning of the celebrations.


The focus of the first day was on indoor games, namely Carrom and Chess, which saw enthusiastic participation from students belonging to diverse disciplines such as MBA, Engineering, Paramedical, and others. The matches reflected not only the sporting skills of the participants but also their patience, concentration, and strategic thinking.


The smooth conduct of the event was made possible under the able coordination of Ms. Nazia Begum, Ms. Varisha, and Ms. Aimen Faheem, who ensured active participation and a lively atmosphere in the hall.


The competitions held today generated excitement among both participants and spectators, truly reflecting the spirit of the slogan “Har Gali, Har Maidan, Khele Sara Hindustan.” The winners will be felicitated on the third day of the celebrations.




Report on National Sports Day Celebration – Day 2 (30th August 2025)



The National Sports Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm from 29th to 31st August 2025 under the banner of National Sports Week – “Har Gali Har Maidan, Khele Saara Hindustan”. The three-day celebration aimed to spread awareness about the importance of sports, fitness, and overall well-being.


The pledge was initiated by our respected Provost, Prof. Orus Ilyas, in the presence of the Hall community. On this occasion, the wardens, students, staff members, dining members, and all present took the Fitness Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and encouraging the culture of physical fitness.


In her address, Prof. Orus Ilyas stressed the vital role of fitness in leading a disciplined, productive, and healthy life. The collective pledge reflected the spirit of unity and emphasized the need to integrate sports and exercise into daily routines.


The celebration not only honored the legacy of National Sports Day but also reinforced the idea that fitness is for everyone, and a healthy community builds a stronger nation.





Report on National Sports Day Celebration – Day 3 (31st August 2025)



The third and final day of the National Sports Day 2025 celebrations at Sarojini Naidu Hall, Aligarh Muslim University, was held on 31st August 2025 with great energy and enthusiasm. The day was inaugurated by our respected Provost, Prof. Orus Ilyas, who motivated students to actively participate in sports and highlighted the importance of fitness in daily life.


The day was dedicated to outdoor events, which included the Cycle Race, Spoon Race, Badminton, and Tug of War. Each competition was filled with excitement, healthy rivalry, and a strong sense of teamwork. The matches were judged by Ms. Aziza Rizvi, Retired physical director, Women's college and Mrs. Nida Usmani, Sports In-charge AMU ABK Boys, whose fair evaluation and encouragement added value to the competitions.


The celebrations concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, presided over by Provost Prof. Orus Ilyas, where certificates were awarded to the winners in recognition of their talent, performance, and sportsmanship.


The smooth organization of the final day, as well as the entire three-day program, was made possible through the collective collaboration of Dr. Kaleem Ahmed, Ms. Nazia Begum, Ms. Varisha, and Ms. Aimen Faheem, whose efforts ensured the success of the event.


The Day 3 celebrations marked a grand conclusion to the National Sports Day events, leaving behind cherished memories of joy, unity, and the inspiring message that sports and fitness are for all.





Report on Har Ghar Tiranga, 2025

Report on Tiranga Rangoli Competition – 10th August 2025




Sarojini Naidu Hall, Aligarh Muslim University, organized a vibrant Tiranga Rangoli Competition on 10th August 2025 under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The event beautifully blended creativity with patriotism, as students showcased colorful and intricate Rangoli designs celebrating the Indian tricolor.


The success of the event was greatly due to the visionary leadership and encouragement of Provost, Prof. Orus Ilyas, whose motivation inspired students to participate with enthusiasm and pride. Known for fostering both academic and creative excellence, she personally appreciated participants, adding warmth and value to the occasion.


The difficult task of judging the event was undertaken by Dr. Frah Ashher, whose fair and thoughtful evaluation was deeply appreciated by all.


Special thanks to the organizing committee led by Ms. Nazia Begum, Ms. Varisha and Ms. Aimen Faheem for their dedicated efforts in ensuring smooth execution. Students from diverse fields—Diploma, Engineering, MBA, Paramedical, Nursing, and others—participated with zeal, presenting vibrant artworks that attracted much admiration.


The competition not only highlighted artistic talent but also strengthened the spirit of unity and national pride within the hall.
