Hm Izhar Alam is a Guest Faculty in the Political Science Section at Women's College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Political Science from the Department of Political Science, AMU, Aligarh. His doctoral thesis is concerned with India’s Act East policy and the Northeast. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (honours degree), and Masters in Political Science from Aligarh Muslim University. He is a University Gold Medal awardee from the same department as a graduate and post-graduate student. He is a recipient of the UGC PG-URH and other prestigious scholarships. Hm Izhar Alam is a qualified UGC-NET/JRF in Political Science and was awarded Senior Research Fellow during his research study. He has published six research papers in Peer Reviewed Journals and contributed research articles in Edited Books. He has presented papers at national and international conferences. Also, he has participated in Workshops and Seminars sponsored by ICSSR, UGC and MEA. He is a Lifetime member of IPSA. He is associated with Economic & Political Weekly and Springer Nature Social Sciences as a Referee/Peer Reviewer. His recent work includes a research paper, “Case Study of a Long-Running Conflict, 1947-2023: Ethnic Clashes Jeopardize Manipur's Roseate Economy as Flaring Violence Could Spread Across the Wider Northeast” in Rising Asia Journal; “Abrogation of Article 370 and the Question of Asymmetrical Federal Arrangement in Northeast India,” in SN Social Sciences, published by Springer Nature Switzerland, and a research paper, “Climate Change, Mitigation and International Politics: A Scenario of the Indian Perspectives in the Light of the Global Contexts,” in an edited volume in a publication by Springer Nature.
