Dr. Syed Murtaza Mushtaq is presently working as Assistant Professor (Contractual) (since December 2021) at the  Department of Strategic and Security Studies,  Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He did his B.A (Hons) and M.A in Political Science from Aligarh Muslim University. He further did his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in International Relations from South Asian University, New Delhi.  He specializes in the areas of International Relations Theory, Non-western IR, Islam in International Relations, political theology and counterinsurgency. For his Ph.D., he has worked on intersection of Islam and International Relations Theory. He has previously worked as assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, AMU. He has also been part of GOI's prestigious Border History Project. He has published widely and has more than 9 publications to his credit.
