Dr. S. M. A. Waseem completed his MBBS and MD from JNMC, AMU, Aligarh. After completing his MD, he worked as a Senior Resident from 2010 to 2013 in the Department of Physiology at JNMC, AMU. During his tenure, he learned a great deal from his teachers and seniors. He was actively involved in the neurophysiology lab of the Department and conducted various tests, including MNCV, SNCV, BAEP, and EMG. After completing his senior residency, he joined IIMS&R, Integral University, Lucknow, as an Assistant Professor in 2013. There, he was actively involved in both academic and administrative duties, as well as extracurricular activities. He worked there until November 2020, after which he joined JNMC, AMU, Aligarh as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology. He was promoted to Professor in December 2023 in the Department of Physiology at JNMC, AMU, Aligarh.

Dr. S. M. A. Waseem has a keen interest in learning, teaching, and research. His research domains include cardiorespiratory and gastrointestinal physiology, as well as metabolism, Medical Education, NEP-2020, and Yoga. He was elected as a Life Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) in 2025.
