Dr Mohammad Nazim has been an Associate Professor in the Library and Information Science Department at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) since 2021. He has more than 21 years of experience in teaching, research, and librarianship. He holds a PhD in Library and Information Science from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and a master's degree in Library and Information Science from AMU. Before joining AMU as an Assistant Professor, he spent about 10 years at BHU serving as an Assistant Librarian. 

He has more than 80 publications to his credit, including research articles in peer-reviewed journals published by Emerald Publishing, Taylor & Francis, Springer, Sage and Elsevier. In addition to editing two volumes, Dr Nazim has authored a book titled Knowledge Management in Libraries, published by Chandos Publishing (an imprint of Elsevier, USA). 

Dr Nazim has supervised 50 master’s dissertations and 4 PhD theses, and he is currently supervising 5 PhD students.   Dr Nazim has also completed 3 research projects funded by the ICSSR and developed 2 MOOC courses under the SWAYAM Platform.  

He is currently serving as an associate editor of Library Waves, a member of the Editorial Board of Preprints.org, Scientific Reports (Nature) and the Journal of Indian Library Association.  Additionally, Dr Nazim is the topic editor for the Scholarly Communication theme in the journal Frontiers in Research Metrics and Analytics. He also served as managing editor of the Journal of the Indian Library Association (JILA) from 2016 to 2019.  In 2018, he visited Malaysia as an invited speaker at the IFLA Knowledge Management Satellite Conference held at Xiamen University, Kuala Lumpur.

His research interests include knowledge organization and information retrieval, knowledge management, open science, and bibliometric/scientometrics.
