Dr. Farzana Alim is Professor at the Department of Home Science, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. She has been an alumnus of Institute of Home Science, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University formerly known as Agra University Agra Where she had completed her UG and PG in Home Science in 1980 and 82 respectively. Since then her field of interest has been Child Development and Family Studies and the Ph.D. thesis is also a testimony to this entitled "Marital Stability in Educated couples determined by their self-ideal patterns and value orientations". She is actively engaged in teaching and research for more than 34 years. She has supervised more than 50 PG and 9 research students. Presently 03 research scholars are working under her guidance on various topics. She is determined towards her work and got Best child psychologist? award in 2010. She has chaired many national and international conferences and is also an active member of several curriculum development committees. She has completed one research project titled ?Problems of Parents of Adolescents in Selected Areas of Aligarh.? and authored 01 book, edited 01 book and written 10 chapters in books with esteemed publications. There are numerous papers, articles, abstracts which are published in Souvenirs and Journals. She also had given her contribution in the form of a research paper in various national and international refereed journals. She had attended and presented her work at various national and International Conferences in India. She has presented a paper on Women Health ? Need of the Hour, ?INCOH 2011 International Conference on Humanities 2011? on 14-16 June 2011 at Penang (Malaysia). She was awarded Best Paper award on ?A Pattern of Mental Health in Age Group (14-17 years) in the 8th International and 39 National Conference of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (IAAP), M.D. University, Rohtak (Haryana) 15-17 July 2004, She had delivered lectures on various pursuits such as Sanitation and Food Habits, Urban Anganwadi worker, Child Care and Motherhood, Stress Management, Building Ecologically Sustainable Society etc. She had shared her valuable knowledge on radio talks. She has been engaged in various administrative and academics activities for development of student welfare and subject upliftment. She is actively being a part of curriculum development in different capacities. All India Home Science Association, Vadodara (Gujarat), Psycho-Linguistic Association of India (PLAI), Raipur (M.P.), Indian Psychometric and Educational Research Association, IPERA, Patna, Indian Association of Pre-School Education, Department of Child Development, College of Home Science, M.A.U., Parbhani (M.S.), Society of Behavioural Scientists, Taj Basai, Agra (U.P.). She had been a member of Committees: - Academic Monitoring Committee in Home Science for A.M.U. Schools, Aligarh, Working Committee of Indian Psychometric and Educational Research Association (IPERA), Patna, Board of Studies, Home Science Department, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, A.M.U., Aligarh, Co-opted member of Board of Studies in Home Science Department at Indore (Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya) etc. and many more other universities. Currently, she is focusing on adolescence and its problems and family related issues .
