Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman, Chairman, Department of Pharmacology, was conferred with the prestigious “Most Promising Senior Pharmacologist Award” during the Annual Conference of the Medical Pharmacologists Society of India (MPSCON 2026), held at Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research (CDSIMER) under the aegis of Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore. The award was presented in recognition of his significant academic contributions, excellence in pharmacological research, and sustained commitment towards advancing the national pharmacovigilance (PvPI) and materiovigilance programme of India (MvPI). During the conference, Dr. Rahman also chaired a scientific session on predictive drug delivery systems. In addition, he delivered an invited guest lecture on “Systems Pharmacology & Network Medicine,” highlighting the emerging role of integrated and computational approaches in understanding disease mechanisms, drug interactions, and personalized therapeutics. MPSCON 2026, which was attended by delegates, academicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across the country, served as an important platform for scientific exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration among pharmacologists and medical researchers, featuring keynote lectures, panel discussions, paper presentations, and deliberations on recent advances in pharmacology and therapeutic.

Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman gets Dr. SB Pandey Oration Award
Prof. SyedZiaurRahman, Chairman of the Department of Pharmacology, was honored with the Dr. SB Pandey Oration Award. During the 54th Annual Meeting of the Indian Pharmacological Society (IPSCON-2024) at AIIMS, New Delhi, he delivered the oration on his research titled "Exploring Medicinal Plants for Morphine De-addiction." This prestigious award is named after the renowned Indian pharmacologist Prof. S. B. Pandey from Patna, Bihar.
Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman, Chairman, and Prof. Farhan Ahmad Khan, Department of Pharmacology, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University have been awarded the Fellowship of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FFPM) by the Royal College of Physicians, England, during the Annual Awards Ceremony held on July 3, 2024 at the Headquarters of Royal College of Physicians, London. The Fellowship is awarded to recognize excellence in pharmaceutical medicine, encompassing education, policy and engagement.
