Interactive session in collaboration with the Sir Syed Foundation, under the Outreach Programme

Interactive session organised by the Department of Pharmacology, JNMCH, AMU, in collaboration with the Sir Syed Foundation, Aligarh, under the Outreach Programme on 28.8.2023.


20 students from the Department of English at AMU visited the department of pharmacology as part of an internship/outreach programme and to enhance their knowledge in the field of pharmacology. The President, Naved Alam, introduced the students to the faculty members, SRs, and JRs, and discussed the various things related to the visits to the Chairman.


The Chairman, Prof. Syed Ziaur Rehman, welcomed everyone for the visit, discussed the significance and relevance of the department, and talked about the necessity of drug evaluation.


Students were exposed to the basic activities that are conducted in the department by Prof. Farhan Ahmad Khan. Dr. Jamil Ahmad, Assistant Professor, shared his sheer intellect with the students and briefed them about the process of making medicines while briefing them on several medicines.


The students visited the CAL Lab, experimental, and research PG labs of the department, where the resident doctors demonstrated the various aspects while giving practical briefings on medicine, especially about the ORS, drug administration process, and use of software for teaching drugs' action. 


The visit was kind and fruitful, and at the end, the General Secretary, Mr. Faizur Rehman Sherwani, thanked the entire Department Chairman, faculties, and non-teaching staff for their hospitality and warm welcome.

Materiovigilance Program of India (MvPI)

The Dept. is entrusted as Medical Device Adverse Event Monitoring Centre (MDMC) by Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, to improve the patient safety and welfare of Indian population by monitoring adverse events related to medical devices and thereby reducing the risk associated with use of medical devices.

Pharmacovigilance Program of India (PvPI)

Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre (AMC), J.N. Medical College, AMU is functioning under Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and dedicated to monitoring drug-related adverse events.
