COURSE.PEO :

1st Year Objectives ( At the end of 1st year should be able to do)

  • Pre- anaesthetic assessment
  • Preoperative optimization
  • Airway assessment
  • Management of normal airway
  • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation
  •  Basic anaesthetic management of ASA I and II patients


2nd Year Objectives (At the end of 2nd year)


  • Administer general and regional anaesthesia to ASA grade I,II,III,IV patients under supervision
  • Perform epidural, spinal and peripheral nerve blocks under supervision
  • Should learn paediatric and trauma life support
  • Expertise in basic and advanced cardiac life support
  • Should be able to analyze data and develop sense of writing thesis
  • Should be able to present scientific data


3rd Year Objectives (At the end of 3rd year)


  • Administer anaesthesia to all kind of patient under graded supervision
  • Cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, paediatric surgery anaesthetic management
  • The aim at the end is to be competent and independent soon after the third year of junior residency in providing anaesthesia to elective and emergency cases.
  • The junior resident should be able to manage critically ill patient treat intractable pain.
  • They should also know how to organize mass casualty
  • Thesis writing and submission
