Workshop Series on Communication Skills Development, 9-14 February 2021

Workshop Series on Communication Skills Development ( online ) was organized by University Polytechnic in collaboration with REsolv Corporation USA & University Polytechnic held on 9-14 February 2021.

The University Polytechnic, AMU had organized a 5 -day (Online) workshop series on Communication Skills Development from 9-14 February, in collaboration with the REsolv Corporation, Massachusetts, the USA to help the students hone their communication skills.

The Inaugural function held was attended by Prof Parvez Mustajab, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology as Chief Guest, Prof Arshad Umar, Principal, University Polytechnic, Mr. Syed Ali Rizvi, President REsolv Corporation, USA, faculty members and students.

Prof Pervez Mustajab emphasized the need for effective communication skills for the students of Engineering for better placements and higher studies. Mr. Syed Ali Rizvi (philanthropist and an alumnus of AMU), highlighted the idea of giving back to Alma Mater. Prof Arshad Umar reiterated the significance of English Communication skills for the Polytechnic students as most of them come from Hindi/Urdu medium backgrounds.  

Dr. Areeba Shabbir the convener for REsolv Education and Training Programs conducted the inaugural session. Ms. Sameera (Associate Professor) proposed the vote thanks.

The Training and Placement Cell, University Polytechnic Organized An Online Expert Lecture On “Introduction to Intelligent Techniques” By Prof. Shabana Mehfuz Electrical Engineering Department F/O Engineering & Technology Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi Dated: 29th Oct' 2020, Time: 11 am

About the speaker- Prof. Shabana Mehfuz has been working in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia for the past 21 years where she presently holds the position of full professor. She has published more than 70 papers in International Journals and Conferences. She has guided seven PhDs and is currently supervising another six candidates. She is a senior member of IEEE, Life Member ISTE, Member of Institution of Engineers, and Life Member of Computer Society of India. She has received grants for research projects from agencies like AICTE and UGC. She has acted as track chair for two flagship International IEEE conferences held in 2015 and 2019. She has been awarded International Inspirational Women Award 2020 for Best Performer in Government Award by GISR Foundation. Her research interest includes Computer Networks, Cloud Computing, Network Security and Computational Intelligence.

Online Workshop on INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS & PATENT FILING, 30th September 2020

After successful participation in this workshop, the participants of the workshop was able to understand the Intellectual Property; Intellectual Property rights and procedures to convert the research outcome into patents. This workshop also brought a positive transformation in the attitude of faculty members and research scholars in their project and research works and got them more focused as well as result-oriented, and made them familiar with the process for further commercialization/ technology transfer.
