Keeping in view the AMU management started Evening Engineering Degree Courses.

In 1966, the UGC approved the scheme for starting Evening Degree Courses in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering for Diploma Engineering Holders with professional experience at Zakir Hussain College of Engineering & Technology.

The courses started from the session 1966-67 and were discontinued in 1971-72 but again restarted from the session 1976-77 under Grading Scheme of Evaluation. Earlier, the duration of this B.E.
