Ghulam Raza is an experienced religious scholar and cleric who has served as the Moazzin for the Department of Shia Theology at Aligarh Muslim University since 2002. With over 24 years of experience in institutional and religious duties, his role involves managing daily religious services and providing departmental support. His career is marked by a long-standing commitment to the community, having addressed Majalis annually since 1991 and previously serving as a Madarsa teacher and Imam Jumma in Aligarh. He also served as a Peshnamaz in Warora, Maharashtra, across two different tenures between 1994 and 2000.

His academic background is extensive, rooted in advanced religious studies conducted both in India and abroad. Between 1995 and 1998, he studied in Qom, Iran, under the guidance of Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani, where he received his clerical turban (Amama). In India, he earned a series of high-level certifications from Sultanul Madaris, Lucknow, including Sadrul Afazil (1994), Sanadul Afazil (1992). Born in 1971, he is a multilingual professional proficient in Urdu, Hindi, and Persian.
