Dr. Farmanur Rahman Khan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology at Aligarh Muslim University with over 20 years of teaching and research experience in the field of Zoology, particularly in Entomology. His research specialization includes insect taxonomy, systematics, biodiversity, and ecological entomology, with a special focus on parasitic wasps of the superfamily Chalcidoidea, which play an important role in biological control of agricultural pests.

Dr. Khan obtained his Ph.D. in Zoology (Entomology) from Aligarh Muslim University in 2006. He has previously served as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Qassim University (QU), Saudi Arabia from 2012–2025, where he was involved in teaching and research in Human Biology, Plant protection and Insect Pest Management. His research contributions include extensive taxonomic studies on parasitoid Hymenoptera, and several insect species have been named in his honor by leading taxonomists.

He has published several research papers in reputed national and international journals and has also worked as Principal Investigator of research project funded by Deanship of Research, QU, on parasitoid biodiversity and insecticide impact. Dr. Khan serves as an active member of professional scientific societies including the Entomological Society of India.

His teaching and research interests include insect taxonomy, insect pest management, biological control, and ecological studies of insects.
