Dr.Maria Khan is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Contractual) in Economics section of Women's College, Aligarh Muslim University. She has joined the College as Guest teacher in September, 2015. She has completed B.A. Economics (2007) and M.A. in Economics (2010) from Aligarh Muslim University. She has obtained her Ph.D degree(2016) from the same University on the topic “Impact of Industrialization on Environmental Degradation in India since 1991". She is a recipient of Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child for PG Programs (Session 2008-10) awarded by UGC. She has also qualified NET exam conducted by UGC (2012).
Dr.Maria Khan has published ten research papers in journals of national and international repute focusing on the areas of environment and also on employment issues. She has also published three chapters in edited books.
Areas of interest: Environmental economics, Developmental economics and Labour economics. At present she is teaching Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Environmental Economics, Labour Economics, Statistical methods, financial economics at graduation level
