Dr. Ziaur Rahman is a scholar of Modern Arabic Language and Literature with a Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He is currently serving as Guest Faculty at the Department of West Asian and North African Studies, Faculty of International Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
His academic interests encompass modern Arabic literature, cultural and political dimensions of Arab nationalism, and comparative literary studies. He has previously taught at the Centre for West Asian Studies, JNU, and brings extensive experience in both teaching and research.
Dr. Rahman has published widely in reputed national and international journals in both Arabic and English, dealing with themes such as Egyptian and Saudi women' image and social status portrayed in Arabic novels, Israel-Palestine conflict depicted by Palestinian resistance literature, and comparative study on Indo-Arab literary figures. He is also the author of a book on Mahmoud Darwish, examining the poet’s role in Palestinian resistance movement.
In addition to academia, he has administrative experience as a Residential Warden at V. M. Hall, AMU. His interdisciplinary approach integrates language, literature, and geopolitics within the broader framework of West Asian studies.
