Dr. Afshan Naaz is a PGT (Biology- Contractual) in the Girls’ Senior Secondary School with over 12 years of teaching experience. She is a Gold Medalist in her Master’s degree and holds an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Botany (Plant Biotechnology) from Aligarh Muslim University.

She worked as a Research Associate under the DST–PURSE Program  and was awarded the prestigious  Postdoctoral Fellowship in Life Sciences  by the DST/Science and Engineering Research Board,(SERB) completing her postdoctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna. She had been recipient of various scholarships of this university and actively participated in various co=curricular activities .

Dr. Naaz has published many research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, with good impact factor,  including one book chapter, and has co-edited the book Science and Environment: Global Issues and Local Perspective. She has been an invited speaker at international conferences, delivered guest lectures at national workshops, and actively participated in numerous academic conferences, workshops, and training programs. Also winning best poster and oral presentations at National and international conferences.

She has also served as a Residential Warden at S.N. Hall, AMU. Currently serving as Non Residential warden in Begum Sultan Jahan Hall
