Having completed her schooling from the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (K.V.S.) and higher education from Aligarh Muslim University, Dr. Afroz Bano has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at Aligarh Muslim University. She possesses a rich teaching experience spanning nearly two decades. She began her professional journey as a Trained Graduate Teacher on 30 August 2003 at AMU City School, where she served for 14 years. Her constant pursuit of excellence and dedication towards academics later led to her appointment as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) at STS School, Aligarh Muslim University.

Dr. Bano has successfully organised and supervised B.Ed. Teacher Training Programmes. Owing to her keen interest in the field of testing and evaluation, she was entrusted with the responsibilities of Assistant Superintendent of Examinations. She has also served as the Co-Cultural Coordinator of School cultural programs and Coordinator of the School Syllabi Committee, which equipped her with extensive experience in curriculum design and development. In addition to her extensive academic and teaching experience, Dr. Afroz Bano has made significant scholarly contributions through her publications in the fields of education. She has authored the ​Aadhunik Vyakaran series for Classes 1 to 8 in accordance with NCF 2023, published by Franklin Books Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi. She has also co-authored the book ​Education and Research in Different Shades. 

​Her research papers have been published in reputed national and international journals on diverse contemporary themes such as ICT in education, mental health during the pandemic, open access publishing, and the impact of information technology on adolescents’ study habits and leisure activities.

Currently, she is serving as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) at STS School, Minto Circle.
