Dr. Amina Khatun is an esteemed Assistant Professor in Bengali at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Uttar Pradesh, in the Department of Modern Indian Languages, where she also serves as the ‘In Charge’ of the Bengali Section. A Gold Medalist in M.A. Bengali from AMU, she further pursued an M.A. in Political Science from Calcutta University. She completed her Ph.D. at AMU in 2011, with a focus on the works of Mahasweta Devi, a globally renowned Indian writer celebrated for her activism and literary contributions. With six published books and numerous research papers in Bengali, Hindi, and English, Dr. Khatun’s scholarly work has appeared in prominent national and international journals. She has been deeply involved in academia, participating in and organizing numerous national and international seminars, webinars, and cultural events. Her academic expertise spans contemporary Bengali fiction and feminist theory, showcasing her commitment to advancing critical discourse in these areas. In addition to her academic endeavors, Dr. Khatun is a passionate poet, with a profound interest in reading and writing poetry. Her contributions reflect a deep engagement with literature, culture, and the promotion of Bengali language and thought.
