Professor Asma Ali currently serving as the Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. She has completed her B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh India. She has been appointed Lecturer in 1995, Senior Lecturer in 1998, Reader 2003, Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2009 till date at the Department of Mathematics. She has research and teaching experience of 32 years in specialized area of Algebra. She works on Theory of Rings, Near Rings,  Modules, Graph Theory, and Fuzzy Algebra. Her research focus is on Additive maps in Rings and Algebras, Ring of Quotients, Graph Theory and Fuzzy Algebra. She has published 113 research papers pertinent to her specialization in the peer reviewed Journals of International repute like Comm. Algebra, Bull. Austral Math. Society, Acta Math. Hungarica, Aequationes Math., Discuss. Math. General Algebra Appl., Afrika Mathematika, Beitrage Zur Algebra and Geometrie, Rendiconti del Circolo Mathematico di Palermo, Hacettepe J. Math. & Statistics. Prof. Asma Ali has contributed 6 research articles which are chapters in the Research volumes published by the prestigious press. She has research work in collaboration with eminent subject experts such as Tariq Rizvi and Cosmin Roman, Ohio State University, Columbia, Ohio, USA, Howard E. Bell, Brock University, Ontario, Canada, Vincenzo De Filippis of Messina University, Italy, Shuliang Huang, Chuzhou University, China, Nurcan Argac, Ege University, Izmire, Turkey, Shervin Sahebi, Islamic Azad University, Iran, Miguel Ferrero and Claus Haetinger, Central Brazil University, Brazil, Mehsin Jabel Atteya, University of Iraq. Very recently Prof. Asma Ali has been selected for LEAP, Leadrership Academicians Programme under MHRD Scheme Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT), Domestic training at CALEM, India, Dec. 16-30, 2019 and Foreign training from Feb. 15-22, 2020 at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. She has received Honor of recognition for her contribution and achievements as successful professional by the International Society of Muslim Women in Science (CISMWS) and is a council member of Indian Mathematical Society. She is a also a life member of various academic bodies. She has been invited speaker/planary Speaker in many International and National Conferences/Seminars and chaired various academic sessions. She has successfully guided 13 (Thirteen) Ph. D. and 09 (Nine) M. Phil. students. She has been awarded two major Research Projects, one from Department of Science and Engineering Research Board in 2013 and other from University Grants Commission, New Delhi in 2007 for a period of three years. Prof. Asma Ali edited a Research volume entitled “Algebra and its Applications” published by Springer Press ISBN. 978-981-10-1050-9 (2016) with S. Tariq Rizvi, Ohio State University, Columbia, Ohio, USA and Vincenzo De Filippis, University of Messina, Italy, Co-Editors. One Research Volume has been accepted for publication in Springer Press entitled “Algebra and Related Topics with Application” in 2020 with Prof. Mohammad Ashraf, A.M.U., Aligarh and Vincenzo De Filippis, Co-Editors. She has been Convener/Co-convener of International Conferences. Prof. Asma Ali has visited many countries for academic pursuits such as USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Korea, Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Australia. She has been co-opted member of BOS of various Departments. She has served the University in the capacity of the Provost of Begum Sultan Jahan Hall, Nodal Teacher, Gender Championship Scheme, Faculty of Science in collaboration with MHRD and ministry of Women and Child, Member of task Force to monitor the security arrangements for girls and women in the Campus. At present, she is serving the University in the capacity of Deputy DSW.
