Veteran Mass Communication educator,founder chairman and faculty member of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Aligarh Muslim University. One of the senior most professor of Mass Communication in India actively engaged in teaching and research for the past 39 years.Editor-in-Chief Indian Journal of Communication Review. Authored and edited 8 books and two monographs. Published over 20 research articles in national and international journals. Participated and presented papers/chaired sessions/presented keynote addresses in over 40 national and international conferences. Member of several High Power research and academic committees in Universities across India. Participated as subject expert in over 100 selection committees in the discipline of Journalism/Mass Communication. Member of the core committee of setting up AMU off campus in Mallapurram, Murshidabad, Kihshanganj . As a senior academician, researcher and administrator held many responsible positions in Aligarh Muslim University including as Media Advisor, Member-in-Charge: University publications, Editorial board member: University Gazette, Member-in-Charge: Public relations, Acting Director: AMU Academic Staff College and Member of the Board of Management: , Coordinator Journalism ans Mass Communication course: AMU Distance Education Centre, Acting Dean: Faculty of Social Sciences, Coordinator: Sir Syed International Award. At the national level functioned as UGC's XIth plan expert committee member of University of Calcutta, Kalyani University, West Bengal and Maulana Azad Urdu University, Hyderabad, President of India Nominee for Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia. Governor's/Chancellor's Nominee for University of Calcutta, Rabindra Bharti University,Burdwan University, Guru Jambeshwar University, Kurukshetra University,M D University Rohtak , Punjab University, and involved in the selection of Mass Communication faculty in Makhanlal Chaturvedi Patrikarta University and several Universities located in Madya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir. Also involved in several committees including JRF/NET evaluation, UGC projects and International Conferences grants and other Central as well as State and Private Universities relating to Journalism and Mass Communication Research and curriculum development.
