Dr. Syed Md Wasim is an early-career researcher specializing in Micropaleontology/Paleontology. He completed his graduation and post-graduation from the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. He awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under DST and subsequently pursued his Ph.D. at Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University.

He was awarded a Ph.D. in Micropaleontology from Aligarh Muslim University under the supervision of Prof. Abu Talib. His doctoral research adopted an integrated approach, encompassing paleoenvironmental analysis, biostratigraphy, and paleogeography. During his Ph.D., he was also awarded the prestigious Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) under CSIR, New Delhi.

Following the completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Wasim joined the Department of Geology at D.S. College, Aligarh affiliated by Raja Mahendra Pratap University, Aligarh as a Assistant Professor (Temporary). He was later awarded a Research Associate (RA) by CSIR, New Delhi. Thereafter, he continued his research in the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University, under the mentorship of Prof. Abu Talib and Dr. Shabber Habib Alvi. Dr. Wasim has published several research papers in reputed national and international journals, making significant contributions to the field of micropaleontology.
