I did my M.Sc.(Geology) in 1983 & Ph.D. in 1989 from the Aligarh Muslim University. I joined the department as a Research Associate, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) in 1992. My teaching interest is in Igneous Petrology & Geochemisty. I have about twenty years of experience of working on the geology and geochemistry of Precambrian volcanic rocks, Banded Iron Formations (BIF), Black Shale and Newer Dolerite dykes of the Singhbhum Craton. I am a fellow of Geological Society of India; Indian Association of Applied Geochemists; Mineralogical Society of India; Indian Association of Sedimentologists & life member of Indian Geological Congress. My research papers are published in Current Science; Journal of Geological Society of India; Geological Magazine; Arabian Journal of Geosciences & International Geological Review.
