Dr. Shamshad obtained the degrees of B.A., M.A., B.Ed. and Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He qualified Joint CSIR-UGC (JRF) in Earth Sciences and UGC (NET) in Geography. He is currently employed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Since August 01, 2018. Dr. Shamshad worked as a Research Fellow under the UGC-SAP-DRS-III Programme and also accomplished the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF). His major fields of research interest are Population, Rural and Urban Geographies. He has a great commitment with teaching and research, and hence, to his credit, there are three books and eighty eight research papers published in various edited books, proceedings and reputed national & international journals. He has also presented more than sixty research papers in various national and international conferences, participated in fifteen webinars, done five Refresher, Orientation, Capacity Building and Faculty Development Programmes, accomplished thirteen Short Term and Training Programmes, delivered two lecturers, chaired technical sessions, supervised M.A./M.Sc. educational tours and participated in several workshops. He also received two Young Geographer Awards for the best paper presentation in seminars. Dr. Shamshad is the life member of various academic bodies like NAGI (New Delhi), GAG (Goa), IRDS (Kanpur), INCA (Hyderabad), RGA, (Bhilwara), APA, (Patiala), KGAI (Sindhudurg) and Geographical Society of the North-Eastern Hill Region.
