Dr Ahsan Ahmad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of
Foreign Languages at Aligarh Muslim University, where he teaches Spanish
language and culture. He has been part of the department since 2021 and is
actively involved in teaching, research, and academic events. He completed his
PhD in Spanish from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His doctoral
research explored how social media can be used effectively in Spanish language
classrooms in India. Over the years, his academic work has focused on language
teaching, cultural understanding, and the experience of Indian learners
studying Spanish as a foreign language. Dr. Ahmad has published research articles in
national and international journals on topics such as social media in language
learning, cultural challenges in foreign language education, and India–Spain
relations. He regularly presents papers at seminars and conferences and has
also served as a session moderator at international academic events. His work
reflects a strong interest in connecting language learning with culture,
technology, and real classroom practice. Before joining AMU, he gained teaching
experience at Jawaharlal Nehru University and worked in translation and
interpretation for various professional settings, including interactions with
Spanish-speaking visitors and international professionals. These experiences
have strengthened his practical understanding of language use beyond the
classroom. Along
with his academic work, Dr Ahmad has participated in international academic
programs and language courses abroad, further deepening his engagement with
Spanish-speaking cultures. He believes that language learning is not just about
grammar and vocabulary, but about building cultural awareness and meaningful
communication. His broader academic interests include foreign language
pedagogy, intercultural communication, and the role of technology in language
education. Through his teaching and research, he aims to make language learning
more engaging, relevant, and connected to the real world.
