Mohd Danish began his academic career at Kumaon University in 2006 before joining the Department of Fine Arts at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) as Guest Faculty in 2010. He was appointed as Assistant Professor (Contractual) through the General Selection Committee in 2015. Throughout his academic journey, he has balanced his teaching responsibilities with active artistic practice, his artistic works have been showcased in prestigious galleries across India and internationally, demonstrating his continued engagement with contemporary art practice. His academic contributions extend beyond the classroom through his consistent participation in various committees. With over 17 years of experience, Mr. Danish has established himself, bridging academic excellence with creative expression while fostering institutional growth in fine arts.

This research paper explores the significant impact of British colonial rule on Indian subjects, with a particular emphasis on the imposition of academic art, while in Britain, academic art was denounced with the rise of Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and the Aesthetic Movement, both of which rejected the academic conventions of the time in favour of more innovative and individualistic artistic approaches challenging the dominance of Academic Art and promote new, often symbolist or unconventional styles.
