Dr. Mohd Furkan is working as an Assistant Professor in the department of Applied Science & Humanities, University Polytechnic since June 2016. Prior to the joining of this post, he was working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, AMU, Aligarh on Adhoc basis. He possesses a uniformly good academic record throughout. He has also been the second topper in the list of M.Sc. He has qualified CSIR JRF-NET and CSIR-NET with all India rank 55. He has also served the world famous space agency and among the only six space faring nations of the world, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), for about two years and got the second position in the final selection list of ISRO. During ISRO job, he was responsible for mathematical modelling of image processing problems related to Image Registration of multiband Visible and Infrared channels of INSAT-3D, the Indian meteorological satellite. He was also engaged in the areo-tagging of the Mars for Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) of ISRO. He has been awarded many fellowships at national level like CSIR Junior Research Fellowship, Basic Scientific Research Fellowship (BSR) and Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) of UGC. He has published a number of research papers in the SCI journals of international repute with good impact factors like Numerical Algorithms (Impact factor 1.536) and Fixed Point Theory (Impact factor 1). He has participated in many national and international conferences and presented his research work and actively participated in mathematical programs. Dr. Furkan has also been a very much part of the 5th Heidelberg Laureate Forum held at Heidelberg, Germany which is a meeting of young researchers with Abel Laureates and Field Medalists of Mathematics. He was the one to have been selected for this mega event among the only 200 young researchers from all over the world through an international and general scientific process. Recently, he has been conferred with the Best Paper Award during an international conference.
