Dr. Mujahid was awarded a Ph.D. in chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India, in 2011. During his Ph.D., he worked on the synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical studies of composite membranes. He completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; M.Sc. in Chemistry; and M.Tech. in Agricultural Process and Food Technology from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He is actively engaged in research on         

• Organic-inorganic composite membranes: Synthesis, electrochemical characterization, electrochemical and transport properties, and analytical applications.

• Application of composite membranes in the environment, medical, and health fields.

• Separation of toxic heavy metal ions in wastewater.

• Desalination of saline water

• Interface of electrochemistry and surface science

He has been teaching applied chemistry to diploma engineering students at the University Polytechnic and Women’s Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University, India. He has also taught B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Industrial Chemistry) courses in the Department of Industrial Chemistry, as well as B.Tech. (Food Technology) courses at Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University, India.

He has published 52 research papers in reputed international journals, including Desalination, Materials Science and Engineering C, Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, RSC Advances, American Chemical Society (ACS Omega), etc. He has also edited two international books and participated in 44 national and international conferences and symposia. He has actively participated in several Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), orientation and refresher courses, and workshops.

He has actively contributed to university administration through his roles as mentor, assistant DSW, pro-proctor, and warden.
