Musheer Ahmad obtained his bachelor's degree in Chemistry (Hons.) followed by Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2008. Later, he moved to Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur to pursue his doctoral studies under the supervision of Professor Parimal K. Bharadwaj where he has undergone the research training in supramolecular chemistry, synthesized a series of coordination polymers exhibiting intriguing structural features such as homochiral networks, dimensional versatility, controlled interpenetration and non-interpenetration and functional features such as molecular magnetism, photoluminescence, proton conduction, gas sorption, ferroelectric-second-harmonic generation (SHG) properties and catalytic activity as well as potential applications in a broad range such as memory devices, fuel cell technology, catalysis, and sensing for which he was awarded the doctorate in 2014. Since January 2015, he joined Aligarh Muslim University as an Assistant Professor. His research interests include porous and nano-structured materials and related functional applications, especially for environmental issues and clean energy. He has been extensively engaged in collaborative research and also participating in the conferences/symposia in both India and abroad.
