| Plantation drive: organized on 12.10.2023 in Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, AMU, Aligarh
Prof. Akram Ahmad Khan FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES ALIGARH MSLIM UNIVERSITY ALIGARH-202002 Int.:3753; 3766; 3772, E_mail: dean.agr@amu.ac.in Dated 12.10.2023 Plantation drive in Faculty of Agricultural Sciences AMU Aligarh A plantation drive was organized on October 12, 2023 at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University. The Chairpersons of different Departments faculty, non-teaching staff and students enthusiastically participated in this program to contribute to a greener Planet earth. The plantation drive was aimed at fostering the sustainability and environmental consciousness, aligning with global efforts to overcome climate change. Under the guidance of Prof. Akram Ahmad Khan, Dean Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, 100 saplings of various Ornamental/horticultural plants were planted. Prof. Iqbal Ahmad, Coordinator B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture along with all UG/PG Students of Centre of Agriculture Education participated in this programme. The plant for this program included Bottle palm, Aonla, Ashok Pandula, Exora, Croton, Araucaria, Gule-Fanoos and Harsingar etc. representing a variable range of plants for a sustainable and green environment. Prof. Khan highlighted the importance of a greener and healthier environment in human lives and urged everyone to promote the green cover of the campus. The hands-on experience to the students during the program was invaluable, promoting a sense of responsibility and care for the environment and collectively building a more sustainable and environmentally conscious campus and society. Celebration of 75th Independence Day: Essay writing Competition 13th August, 2022 The Centre of Agricultural Education, Faculty
of Agricultural Sciences Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh organized Essay
Writing Competition on the theme, “Importance of Millet on Human Health” on the
occasion of 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY celebration on 13th August, 2022 under
“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The competition was successfully organized in
the supervision of Prof. Rais Ahmad (Dean;
Faculty of Agricultural Sciences) and other members of organizing committee. In the Essay Writing Competition, UG, PG and research students from different Departments of Studies of the have participated. Certificates were distributed to all the awardees (1st, 2nd and 3rd) in the competitions separately for Research & PG and UG programmes. Prof. Rais Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences with other digniteries keenly attended this online event successfully. Prof. P.Q. Rizvi, Chairman, Department of Plant Protection, Prof. Abdul Malik, Chairman, Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Prof. Sadaf Zaidi, Chairman, Department of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, Prof. Farzana Alim, Chairman, Department of Home Science, Prof. Iqbal Ahmad, Co-Ordinator, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, Center of Agricultural Educationalong with other teachers, research scholars and non-teaching staff attended the programmewith COVID 19 protocol.
