Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution included in the II Schedule of Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 followed by Compulsory Rotatory Internship for a period prescribed by the CCIM and enrolled in the State Register of Indian System of Medicine

(iii)As Program manager / co-coordinator for various national health programs; (iv) At Non-governmental organizations / voluntary health agencies; (v) At International agencies such as WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, World Bank etc.; (vi) At Health centres under public sector dispensaries, maternal and child health centres, PHCs, CHCs. (vii) At Private sectors as family physicians or preventive health care in corporate hospitals.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO's) :

General The objective is to train a candidate so as to ensure higher competence in both general and special area of interest in the field of Unani Medicine and prepare him / her for career in teaching, research and speciality practice. A candidate must have high degree of clinical proficiency in the subject matter and develop competence in research methodology as related to the field of Unani Medicine. The objectives are stated as related to: Knowledge (cognitive domain), Skills (psycho motor domain), Human values, ethical practice and communication abilities (Affective Domain). To develop analysis and design skills to solve actual research problems with accuracy through practical and managerial skills for better employability. The Post Graduate will be able to provide restorative care for the patient with complex problems that are beyond the treatment skills of general Unani physician and demonstrate evaluation and judgement skills in making appropriate decisions regarding Tashkhees wa Ilaj, Tahaffuz and to deliver comprehensive care for the patients keeping in view the National Health Programmes. Human Values, Ethical Practice and Communication Abilities. Adopt ethical principles in all aspects of practice. Foster professional honesty and integrity. Deliver patient care irrespective of social status, caste, creed or religion of the patient. Develop communication skills in particular skill to explain various options available in management and to obtain a true informed consent from the patient. Provide leadership and get best out of his/her team in a congenial working atmosphere. Apply high moral and ethical standards while carrying out human or animal research. Be humble and accept the limitations in his/her knowledge and skill and to ask for help from the colleagues when needed. Respect patients rights and privileges including patients right to seek second opinion.
