OUTREACH

The Department of Physics actively fosters scientific curiosity and outreach through its vibrant engagement initiatives. Every year, the department celebrates National Science Day with great enthusiasm, involving students, research scholars, and faculty members in a week-long series of events. The celebration includes inspiring lectures by eminent scientists and faculty, oral and poster presentations by research scholars, and competitions such as essay writing to inculcate a scientific temper and passion for discovery among participants. Beyond the annual celebration, the department also opens its doors to the wider community. During major celestial events, school students are specially invited to observe the wonders of the universe through the department’s 14-inch rooftop telescope, offering them a thrilling hands-on experience with real astronomical observation. Each year, students from more than ten inter-colleges and schools visit the department to explore its advanced laboratories, participate in interactive sessions, and attend engaging lectures designed to ignite their enthusiasm for science. Through these sustained efforts, the department continues to play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of scientific thinkers and innovators.
