On the eve of Centenary Year Celebration of AMU and Marathi Language Day Marathi Section, Department of Modern Indian Languages, faculty of Arts, Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh is conducting two day International Seminar on 'Dalit Literature in Indian Languages' in Collaboration with Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. on 28-29 February, 2020.

Bengali New year Day celebration held on 18/04/2016. All the students of the department actively took part in this program by presenting their poems, group songs, and reciting their own poetry. Teachers are also took lively part by singing songs and reciting their own poetry. Johnie Foster, Cultural Education Center, finally, sang Gazals. The celebration ends with grant Tea Party.
05-MAR-2016: The Department of Modern Indian Languages, Aligarh Muslim University today started a two-day National Seminar on 'Kashmiri Language/ Issues and Challenges'. The Seminar is organized in collaboration with Sahitya Academy, New Delhi.
While delivering the keynote address at the inaugural function of the seminar, Professor Gulshan Majid, Ex-Director, CCAS, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir said that language and culture are interrelated because the language regions possess certain homogeneity of culture and are characterized by common traits in history, folklore and literature.
He pointed out that one of the basic challenges, the Kashmiri language faces today is that the teaching of this language has not been introduced at the primary or secondary school levels in the State.
International Mother language day has been celebrated in the Department of Modern Indian Languages on 20.2.2016. Prof.Azarmi Dukht Safavi, Director , Institute of Persian Research and Former Dean, Faculty of Arts inaugurated the celebrations.
Cultural Evening held on 15.4.2015 on the occasion of New year celebrations of different states organized by the Bengali students of AMU.
