Lecture-Cum-Workshop on Evidence-Based Research
The Department of Periodontia and Community Dentistry, Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University, organized a lecture-cum-workshop on 17 feb 2025 “Evidence-Based Research: Step by Step Approach” under the leadership of Principal, Professor R.K. Tewari. The session aimed to equip students and faculty with essential research methodologies in dentistry while fostering an engaging exchange of ideas on evidence-based research practices. Professor Priyanka Kapoor, Incharge of the Department of Orthodontics, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, delivered the lecture, emphasizing the importance of integrating evidence-based approaches in dental research. She highlighted the role of systematic research in improving clinical outcomes and encouraged students to develop a structured approach to scientific inquiry. The event was coordinated by Professor Neha Agrawal, Chairman, Department of Periodontia and Community Dentistry, with Professor N.D. Gupta serving as the Organizing Secretary and Dr. Syed Amaan Ali as the Convener.

तम्बाकू समाप्ति को सशक्त बनाना। जेडए डेंटल कॉलेज
एएमयू के डॉ. जेडए डेंटल कॉलेज में पेरियोडोंटिया और सामुदायिक दंत चिकित्सा विभाग ने दोपहर 12-1 बजे तक "तंबाकू समाप्ति में नए परिप्रेक्ष्य" शीर्षक से एक विस्तार व्याख्यान की मेजबानी की। लक्ष्य तंबाकू समाप्ति में 100% सफलता दर हासिल करना था।
इस अवसर पर डॉ. एनडी गुप्ता (कार्यवाहक प्राचार्य) और डॉ. विवेक के शर्मा (अध्यक्ष) सहित अतिथि उपस्थित थे। मास्टर ट्रेनर, डॉ. पवन गुप्ता ने तंबाकू समाप्ति और मौखिक कैंसर नियंत्रण पर अंतर्दृष्टि साझा की।
एक इंटरैक्टिव सत्र में ICanCaRe तंबाकू समाप्ति प्रश्नोत्तरी का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें प्रमुख संदेशों को सुदृढ़ करते हुए एक मजेदार तत्व जोड़ा गया। प्रतिभागियों से आगे उपलब्ध संसाधनों के लिए पंजीकरण के साथ #SaveTheYouth और #advisequittobacco की दिशा में काम करने का आग्रह किया गया।
कार्यक्रम का नेतृत्व डॉ. नेहा अग्रवाल, डॉ. प्रमोद यादव और डॉ. सैयद अमान अली ने किया और मेजबानी डॉ. शाज़िया ने की। .
विस्तार व्याख्यान टीम और सहयोगी साझेदारों के माध्यम से जागरूकता पैदा करने और एक स्वस्थ जीवन शैली को बढ़ावा देने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम था।

World Oral Health Day is celebrated every year on 20 March. It is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene to looking after everyone old and young. As the part of activities on world oral health day a screening and educational camp was arranged at Government Primary school, Patwari ka Nagla and Nagla Kila â?? Sir Syed Memorial Public School by Dr. Z A Dental College on 19th march 2016 under the guidance of Dr. N D Gupta. A total of 223 school children were screened under the supervision of Dr. Neha Agrawal and Dr. Pramod Yadav. Oral Hygiene kits were distributed and health education was delivered with the help of charts and model. Following interns participated in the successful execution of camp -sana, shivani, sadaf, parul, kirtika and Kamran.
In another activity based on theme of World Oral Health Day â??HEALTHY MOUTH HEALTHY BODYâ??, the day was celebrated on 21st March 2016 by the Department of Periodontology & Public Health Dentistry, Dr. Z.A. Dental College, AMU, Aligarh. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. R.K. Tewari (Act. Principal), in the presence of Dr. N.D. Gupta (Professor & chairperson), Dr. Afshan Bey (Professor), Dr.P.K.Jindal, Dr.Sanjeev Verma, Dr. Vivek Sharma (Associate Professor) and Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav, Dr. Neha Agrawal (Assitant Professor). Oral health education was provided to all the patients, tooth brushing method was demonstrated using suitable models and charts were displayed. 105 patients were benefited from the program. Free toothpastes and mouthwashes were distributed to all these patients. Interns (Nagma, Sana, Sivani, Sadaf, Tuba, Parul, Kirtika, and Kamran) were actively involvement in the successful implementation of the program.
