13-Mar-2015: The IG Khan Memorial Week that was scheduled saw different workshops, discussions and performances in collaboration with the Cultural Education Center, AMU. The event was organized by the IG Khan Memorial Trust, founded in memory of the historian and social activist who was slain in Feb 2003. The theme of the sessions were "Why Remember".
The events included workshop sessions and performances by the Delhi-based Jana Natya Manch. The renowned street theatre group created an improvised performance on the issue of violence against women, using experiences and stories drawn from the audience.
They also conducted a workshop on 'Art and Memory' with members of the AMU Drama Club, and staged their latest production.
The IG Khan Memorial Lecture, which was postponed due to the suspension of classes following swine flu cases on campus, has been rescheduled for March 14th, at 1030 am, Kennedy Auditorium. It will be delivered by noted lawyer and human rights activist Vrinda Grover.
