30-SEP-2018: Swachchta programmes held at AMU
ALIGARH September 30: The Department of Social Work, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with Aligarh Municipal Corporation, launched a cleanliness drive at Maulana Azad Nagar, Aligarh, as part of the "Swachahta Hi Sewa" campaign.
Dr Naseem Ahmed Khan, Chairperson, Department of Social Work and Nodal Officer, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Dr Shiv Kumar Yadav, District Health Officer and Mr Arvind Kumar Yadav, District Sanitation Officer interacted with the local people on cleanliness related issues. Dr Mohd Tahir, Dr Mohd Arif Khan, Dr Quratul-Ain-Ali, Mr Mohd Uzair and Dr Sameera Khanam actively participated in the campaign and also coordinated with the ward members.
Under the national swachhta mission, the Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension (CCAEE), AMU also launched a cleanliness drive in collaboration with the University Health Office.
Professor Mohammad Gulrez, Director of the Centre, Dr Aysha Munira Rasheed, Deputy Director of the Centre, Dr Shamim Akhtar, Assistant Professor, CCAEE, Ms Musharraf Jahan, Assistant Professor, CCAEE and Dr Jafar Raza Abedi, University Health Officer, along with other learners and volunteers, actively participated in cleaning the area, adjoining ADM Compound road.
Addressing the volunteers on this occasion, Professor Gulrez highlighted the importance of cleanliness and said that it should be our mission to maintain personal and environmental cleanliness, while Dr Jafar Abedi said that keeping the surrounding clean was very important for personal hygiene.
