06-OCT-2018: AMU doctor awarded for maximum blood donation
Aligarh, October 6: Dr Saleem Mohammad Khan Junior Resident Dept of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh brought laurels to department as he was awarded for maximum blood donation through campaign at state level function in Lucknow
In a programme jointly organized by State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC) Uttar Pradesh and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences Lucknow, Dr Saleem was felicitated for organizing Voluntary Blood Donation Camps and collecting Blood for the patients in need. The Camps were organized by Blood Bank JNMC, Dept of Pathology JNMC, AMU and SOCH Sanstha Aligarh.
The aim of the programme was to bring awareness regarding Voluntary Blood Donation. Awards were given in the field of Max Voluntary Blood Donation in two categories one in Individual Donors and other in Organization Category for organizing maximum number of camps and collecting voluntary blood. UPSACS is working for 100 percent, Voluntary Blood Donation for the patient admitted in the hospital.
Prof Ali Amir (Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine, and AMU) in his congratulatory note appreciated the efforts of Dr Saleem and said that the department has always worked for the community and our students are working towards social responsibility.
He said that the department is working towards providing blood to patients admitted in hospital without replacement thorough increase in Voluntary Blood Donation.
