11-DEC-2018: Bridge Course Students? celebrates World Human Rights Day at AMU
Aligarh, December 11: `If you want to get benefits of human rights in real sense, you have to respect the rights of environment `, said the Chief Guest Prof. Anwar Khursheed ( Civil Engineering , Aligarh Muslim University) while addressing the students of Bridge Course at AMU, to commemorate the World Human Rights Day. Every year nations of the world and several faith groups celebrate December 10 as Human Rights Day, the Bridge Course Academy also celebrates the day to generate and spread awareness about human rights.
Giving power point presentation Prof Khursheed, elaborated Human Rights with respect to environment and laid emphasis on the importance of the environmental health in the Charter. He explained number of environmental issues.
In his Presidential address Dr Mohibbul Haque (Associate Prof Department of Political Science, AMU), stated that the charter of Human Right is really an opinionated document. Its verbal expression appears to be pleasant, however universalisation and implementation of several stated rights is difficult owing to diverse religious and cultural perspectives. Dr Haque exhorted the students to think rationally about these inherent contradictions and place their points of view before the world with conviction.
In his welcome address Officiating Director of the Bridge Course Mr Bachchan Ali Khan gave an overview about the program and shared the information about the preparation of presentation by students having Madarsa background.
On this occasion several students of Bridge course including boys and girls addressed the gatherings
Faculty members Dr Farheen Anjum, Dr Shaista Mansoor, Dr Haroon Rasheed and Non teaching staff of the Bridge course were also present on the occasion.
Dr Mohd Ahmad (Academic Coordinator, Bridge Course, AMU) conducted the proceedings.
