02-APR-2019: Faculty of Management organises workshop
Aligarh, April 2: The Faculty of Management Studies and Research, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised an extension lecture-cum-workshop on 'How to Publish in Quality Journals and Books' at the Frank and Debbie Islam Management Complex in which the resource person, Prof Rene Schmidpeter (Cologne Business School, Cologne, Germany) stressed the need of publishing in journals that offer innovative teaching solutions, approaches, and perspectives to the disciplines that they serve.
Speaking to the research scholars attending the programme, Prof Rene said that the purpose of publications is not to simply add citations but also personal development.
"While writing a paper, researchers should always elucidate the originality of study and the reason for exploring a particular topic. There is a need for developing different theories which make it possible to get articles published in reputed journals," said Dr Rene encouraging the participants to attend national and international conferences to build networks and to get opportunities of meeting with editors of research journals and books.
"If editors share their areas of interest, authors can build innovative and productive research plans," he pointed out.
Dr Rene also spoke on the importance of believing in one's own research and collaborating with others.
Prof Parvaiz Talib (Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research) also spoke on the occasion.
Prof Jamal Ahmad Farooquie delivered the welcome address, while Dr Lamay Bin Sabir proposed the vote of thanks.
Dr Nayan Mitra (Development Consultant, Author and Researcher) and Dr Zareen Husain Farooq were also present.
