11-APR-2019: Workshop on 'Simulation of Networks' held at Women's Polytechnic
Aligarh, April 11: The Training and Placement Cell of Women's Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised a workshop on 'Simulation of Networks' (SON-2019) in which resource persons discussed how software programs model the behaviour of a network and other topics.
Attending the valedictory function as the Chief Guest, Prof B H Khan (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology) emphasised the need of understanding computer networks and importance of workshops on simulation of networks.
During the welcome address, Dr Salma Shaheen (Principal, University Women's Polytechnic and Convener of the workshop) discussed the importance of simulation of networks. She said that the network simulators are important because communication networks have become too complex for traditional analytical methods.
Briefing about the workshop, Mr Tariq Ahmed (Organizing Secretary of the workshop) said that hands-on technical sessions in the workshop provided the participants with practical exposure on understanding software programs used by network professionals and companies.
Mr Mohammed Abdul Qadeer, Mr Mohd Imran with their team from the department of computer engineering explained the concepts of various networks.
Ms Amrah Maryam conducted the workshop, while Ms Shira Moin proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Juhi Faridi delivered the concluding remarks.
Around 50 students participated in the workshop.
