15-APR-2019: ICC office inaugurated at AMU
Aligarh, April 15: The Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor inaugurated the office of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today.
Ever since assuming the office of Vice Chancellor, Prof Mansoor has taken keen interest in encouraging the office of ICC as per the guidelines of Government of India.
While welcoming the guests, Presiding Officer of ICC, Prof Shaheena Tarannum said that it was under Vice Chancellor?s stewardship that budgetary allocation was made for the first time to ICC, besides providing other necessary infrastructure.
The members of ICC Mr Javaid Said, Dr Farah Asshar and Dr Fazila Shahnawaz, briefed that the ICC on its part is actively committed in ensuring safe and conducive environment to women at workplace by resolving the cases expeditiously within stipulated time, while also attempting to resolve the cases informally wherever possible.
This effort enabled ICC to carry out the awareness and sensitization programme throughout the campus. Also, the administration has implemented many of the recommendation of the ICC like providing interim relief to the complainants, thereby trying to achieve zero tolerance towards gender discrimination.
The inaugural function was attended by university officials, who appreciated the working and growth of ICC.
