19-JUN-2019: AMU VC urges protesting doctors to return to work
ALIGARH June 19: The Aligarh Muslim University administration has been in constant touch with the UGC and MHRD officials for the immediate implementation of revision of pay and allowances of junior and senior resident doctors of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, pursuant to the seventh pay commission recommendations.
The Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor informed the University Grants Commission that the resident doctors of J N Medical College Hospital, AMU have gone on mass earned leave protesting against non-implementation of 7th Pay Commission.
Citing Prof Mansoor's letter, Mr Rajnish Jain, Secretary, UGC has further written to Ms Ishita Roy (IAS), Joint Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to "expedite the MHRD concurrence for implementation of the revision of pay and allowances of Junior/Senior Resident Doctors of Medical Colleges/Hospitals of AMU, BHU and University College of Medical Sciences in pursuant to the 7th CPC".
The Vice Chancellor has appealed the protesting doctors to return to work so that the medical facilities are restored to the ailing patients at the earliest.
